Assistant Manager

Position Summary Assistant Manager – SONIC Drive‑In Restaurant. Supports the General Manager in managing drive‑in operations, training and coaching staff, ensuring high standards of food quality, safety, and guest experience. Responsibilities Manages, trains, monitors, and coaches Team/Crew Members, Carhops, and Skating Carhops. Directs and assigns drive‑in employees to maintain operational standards. Ensures compliance with employee handbook, policies, and practices. Performs opening and closing duties. Monitors staffing levels, inventory, and food cost control; makes adjustments as needed. Completes weekly inventory reporting. Handles administrative duties, including file and record maintenance. Reinforces a customer‑service mindset, ensuring employees focus on serving customers. Responds respectfully to guest requests and reports complaints for resolution. Requirements Ability to work irregular hours, nights, weekends, and holidays. General knowledge of the restaurant industry or retail operations. Minimum six months of QSR management experience or one year of entry‑level retail management experience; ability to run shifts independently. Effective communication skills and basic math, reading, and computer skills. Ability to follow directions, work autonomously, multi‑task, and solve problems. Willingness to abide by SONIC appearance, uniform, and hygiene standards. Qualifications Friendly, smiling, and dedicated to courteous food service. Professional, respectful of others, and a team player. Strong leadership and motivation skills for building sales and managing expenses. Experience in creative marketing and developing team members into successful groups. Proven track record of building sales and managing costs in a fast‑paced environment.
