Buyer/Procurement Professional for Government Services

Overview

This position is for a buyer/procurement professional for Government Services. Position will support field operations and new construction by obtaining material and subcontracting quotes from submitted material requisitions, bills of materials and construction subcontracts. Position will keep track of small business utilization and goals and provide reports on small business utilization to client when requested. Position will also track payment to vendors, subcontractors and permitting agencies.

Responsibilities

Procurement & Sourcing: Identify, qualify, and select suppliers; seek new sources for goods, services, and materials; secure favorable terms, prices, and delivery methods

Bid & Contract Management: Prepare and review bids, requests for quotes, proposals, and purchase orders; evaluate proposals against criteria; negotiate purchase agreements and supply contracts

Vendor Relations: Maintain and update vendor files, product catalogs, and price lists; meet with sales representatives; attend trade shows; and build long-term vendor relationships

Process & Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities comply with organizational policies, state/federal procurement laws, and budget constraints.

Inventory & Recordkeeping: Track purchase orders, receipts, and inventory levels; maintain accurate records; coordinate physical inventories.

Collaboration: Work with internal departments (e.g., sales, marketing, operations) to align purchasing with business strategies; may lead, train, or supervise staff/student employees.

Analysis & Reporting: Prepare budgets, work plans, reports, and analyses; evaluate procurement bids; identify cost savings opportunities

Qualifications

Experience: 47 years of related procurement/purchasing experience

Education: Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, procurement, or related field, or equivalent experience

Skills: Negotiation, cost analysis, contract law knowledge, data management, problem-solving, and vendor evaluation.

Work Style: Independent yet collaborative; able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.

Salary Range: USD $69,950.40 - USD $75,000.00 /Yr.
