Packaging Design Engineer

Job Summary Our client is seeking a Packaging Design Engineer in Wayne, NJ to serve as a subject matter expert in the design of packaging systems used by a contract medical device manufacturer. The right candidate will have experience designing packaging, labeling, and sterile barrier solutions for medical device or pharmaceutical manufacturing. location: WAYNE, New Jersey job type: Contract salary: $55 - 63 per hour work hours: 8am to 5pm education: Bachelors Main Responsibilities driving packaging design ensuring compliance with global regulatory standards overseeing off-site customer validation of packaging Responsibilities Lead the design, development, and commercialization of sterile barrier and protective packaging solutions in compliance with ISO 11607 and global medical device regulations. Develop and execute comprehensive packaging validation strategies, including IQ/OQ/PQ protocols, package integrity testing, transportation simulations, and shelf-life aging studies. Provide technical leadership and cross-functional guidance across new product development, sustaining engineering, and platform harmonization initiatives. Resolve complex packaging-related manufacturing issues, conduct root cause investigations, and drive continuous improvement through statistical analysis. Execute cost reduction, sustainability, and supply chain continuity projects to improve overall product quality and operational efficiency.
