JOB SUMMARY:

The Plant Accountant is responsible for overseeing all phases of the various Paterson accounting operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversee all plant accounting functions

• Complete various journal entries for the monthly and year-end closing

• Review weekly production report and complete any necessary labor and raw material adjustments

• Monthly raw material inventories and monthly scrap inventories along with various reports and analysis within a Standard Cost System.

• Reconciliation of finished stock and component inventories

• Scrap value reporting and valuations

• Costing of all remake and experimental orders

• Construction in progress report and plant fixed assets

• Processing of the hourly factory payroll time clock system (UKG – Dimensions)

• Handling of the plant’s petty cash

• Review cost and routing sheets daily (bills of material)

• Producing manufacturing reports such as direct utilizations, scrap, manufacturing goals, and variances

• Annual manufacturing budget and physical inventory

• Other projects as assigned by Corporate or Plant Management

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (specifically in Excel)

• Detail-oriented

• Excellent organizational skills

• Ability to work with all levels of employees from union employees to corporate senior management

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

• 4-year degree in accounting

• 3+ years of accounting preferably in manufacturing/cost accounting

Okonite serves a multitude of markets including Electric Utility (Distribution, Transmission, and Generation including fossil and nuclear), Oil & Gas (refineries and production platforms), Chemical, Military bases, Railroad, Transit and Pulp & Paper. In addition, we provide cables to various other industrial customers in areas of Hospitals, Colleges & Universities, Water Treatment Plants and Data Centers. With today's focus on renewable energy, Okonite cables can be found at Wind Farms, Solar Farms, and Biofuel generating facilities.
