Nurse Practitioner

Oncology/Leukemia Nurse Practitioner, Per Diem Hackensack Meridian Health Jersey Shore University Medical Center Neptune City, New Jersey Hackensack Meridian Health (HMH) is seeking a dedicated Per Diem Nurse Practitioner to join our collaborative, multidisciplinary Oncology and Leukemia team. In this critical role, you will work hand-in-hand with our top-tier oncologists and hematologists to manage the day-to-day clinical needs of our cancer patients. You will be a vital advocate for patient-centered oncology care, utilizing evidence-based medicine to improve outcomes while mentoring the next generation of healthcare professionals—including providing crucial support to our oncology fellows and clinical staff. RESPONSIBILITIES: Advanced Clinical Care: Perform comprehensive history and physical assessments, order and interpret diagnostic studies, and manage complex medical/surgical conditions. You will safely prescribe medications and complete medication reconciliations in accordance with NJ regulations and best practices. Patient-Centered Advocacy: Provide compassionate, culturally sensitive care and education. You will evaluate transitions of care, address obstacles to care progression, and empower patients and families in managing chronic conditions. Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Facilitate coordinated care through daily interdisciplinary rounds, working closely with physicians and the wider hospital team to ensure seamless patient care and resolve ethical care issues. Leadership & Mentorship: Act as a clinical resource and mentor for other APNs and nursing staff. You will precept APN students, collaborate on nursing-led protocols, and participate in peer reviews. Innovation & Research: Apply evidence-based and value-based medicine to improve patient outcomes. You will have the opportunity to participate in clinical research and promote HMH APN practice recognition locally, nationally, and internationally through conferences and publications. QUALIFICATIONS: Education & Experience: Graduate of an NLN/AACN accredited nursing program with a Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program. Experience in a relevant patient care setting. (Oncology, Leukemia, or Bone Marrow Transplant experience is highly preferred!) Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite. Required Licenses & Certifications: Active NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License & Advance Practice Nurse License. Board Certified by AANP or ANCC. Active BLS and ACLS Certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA). Prescriptive authority through CDS and DEA registration according to NJ state law. National Provider Identifier (NPI). Ability to maintain a collaborative agreement with physicians on staff. COMPENSATION: Minimum rate of $71.72 Hourly HMH is committed to pay equity and transparency for our team members.
