SUMMARY: The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing complex accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting compliance with GAAP and internal controls. This role plays a key part in month-end close, financial analysis, and process improvement. ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Lead and execute month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare and review complex journal entries and account reconciliations
- Ensure accuracy of financial statements and supporting schedules
- Analyze variances and provide explanations to management
- Support internal and external audits; act as primary audit contact for assigned areas
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and internal controls
- Assist with system implementations and process improvements
- Mentor and review work of junior accounting staff as needed
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA or CPA-eligible preferred)
- 4–7+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems required
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
