Position Overview

Group Rehabilitation Spine and Sports Medicine is seeking a dedicated and experienced Physical Therapist to join our interdisciplinary team at our state-of-the-art rehabilitation facility in Chesapeake, Virginia. You will work closely with patients to develop individualized treatment plans and guide them through their rehabilitation journey, ensuring they can function at their personal best.

We primarily work with private medical insurance carriers to ensure that our patients receive the care they deserve, focusing on restoration, rehabilitation, and performance enhancement.

Work Environment

The role is based onsite at our rehabilitation facility, offering a collaborative and supportive work atmosphere. As a Physical Therapist, you will be part of a tight-knit team consisting of two physical therapists and a physical therapist assistant (PTA), all dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care. Our work schedule is structured from Monday to Friday, allowing for a balanced work-life dynamic while catering to patient needs from 9 AM to 5 PM.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and establish individualized treatment goals based on each patient's unique needs and expectations.
• Administer treatments and therapeutic exercises, handling 2-3 patients per hour, ensuring efficiency while maintaining quality care.
• Implement evidence-based practice to design comprehensive care plans utilizing various therapeutic techniques.
• Employ manual therapy skills and exercise prescriptions that aim to alleviate pain and enhance mobility.
• Encourage lifestyle modifications by providing education on wellness, strength training, flexibility, balance, and coordination.
• Collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes and share best practices.
• Monitor patient progress meticulously, documenting care services accurately to maintain clear communication and treatment efficacy.
• Reduce dependency on medications and provide alternatives whenever feasible, focusing on long-term wellness.
• Motivate and engage patients during treatment sessions, fostering a supportive and encouraging environment that drives recovery.
• Ensure compliance with safety and ethical standards in all patient interactions and care delivery.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will be primarily serving an orthopedic outpatient population, which includes adults recovering from surgery, sports injuries, and those with chronic pain conditions. Our focus is on optimizing recovery through personalized rehabilitation strategies that prioritize patient engagement and education.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy (DPT preferred).
• Active Virginia Physical Therapist License with no disciplinary actions recorded.
• Demonstrated manual therapy skills and proficiency in therapeutic exercises.
• Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems, particularly WebPT, is highly desirable.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience in an orthopedic outpatient setting, involving hands-on rehabilitation work.
• A track record of developing effective physical therapy programs that yield measurable patient outcomes.
• Additional certifications in specialties such as sports therapy or manual therapy are a plus.

Compensation and Benefits
