Obtain equipment, material, and subcontractor buyouts. Work with superintendents and project managers to ensure bids are accurate. Ensure bids are submitted within required deadlines. Maintain a working knowledge of HVAC and construction standards. Read, understand and use provided plans and specifications to determine accurately estimated cost of jobs. Use company estimating tools to provide consistent estimates. Read all plans and specifications prior to bidding and create accurate cost estimates. Negotiate pricing with vendors. Bid jobs that come in at estimated costs correctly. Required Experience Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Mechanical Engineering preferred, paired with a minimum of 3 to 5 years estimating large commercial HVAC jobs.
