Job Description

Empower elementary-aged students with your compassion and expertise as a school social worker in a contract position near Waterbury, CT. This rewarding opportunity invites you to support young learners’ social, emotional, and behavioral growth while collaborating with dedicated educators and families.

What we're seeking:

Current licensure as a social worker
Experience providing services within elementary school settings
Strong understanding of child development and trauma-informed care
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to build trust with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
Organizational skills to manage caseloads and documentation efficiently

Key responsibilities include:

Conducting assessments to identify students’ needs and creating intervention plans
Providing individual and group counseling to students facing social, emotional, or behavioral challenges
Facilitating communication between families, teachers, and outside agencies to support student success
Delivering crisis intervention and effective conflict resolution strategies
Supporting the development and implementation of individualized education programs (IEPs)
Promoting a safe and positive school environment
