Veterinary Technician

*Overview*
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in animal care and handling, with a passion for providing high-quality veterinary services. This role requires a blend of technical skills and interpersonal abilities to ensure the well-being of our patients and support our veterinary staff in delivering exceptional care. Years of experience and knowledge will determine wage rate.

*Responsibilities*

* Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and procedures
* Perform routine laboratory tests and analyze results
* Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed
* Monitor animal health and behavior, providing critical care when necessary
* Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient
* Provide education to pet owners regarding pet care, nutrition, and preventive health measures
* Handle and restrain animals safely during examinations and procedures
* Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic or hospital environment

*Skills*
Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in the following areas:

* Animal handling and restraint techniques
* Veterinary terminology and animal physiology knowledge
* Experience with kennel operations and animal husbandry practices
* Familiarity with dental terminology related to veterinary care
* Laboratory experience including sample collection and analysis
* Knowledge of veterinary critical care protocols
* Proficiency in animal catheterization techniques
* Aseptic technique for surgical procedures
* Strong communication skills to interact effectively with pet owners
* Maintain Medical records
* Digital Radiographs

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour
