Postdoctoral Research Associate - Hybrid Approaches in Solar Energy page is loaded## Postdoctoral Research Associate - Hybrid Approaches in Solar Energylocations: Upton, NYtime type: Full timeposted on: Posted 2 Days Agojob requisition id: JR102330The Chemistry Division ( of Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL, seeks a Postdoctoral Research Associate to join the newly DOE-funded Center for Hybrid Approaches in Solar Energy to Liquid Fuels (CHASE), a Fuels from Sunlight Center that will be led by the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC). In addition to BNL, it includes collaborators at North Carolina State University, the University of Pennsylvania, Princeton University and Yale University.**Position Description:**The successful candidate will conduct basic research as part of the CHASE team with a specific focus on coupling of multiple molecular catalysts through cascade catalysis to generate liquid fuels from carbon dioxide. They will also work collaboratively with a team of scientists from the Artificial Photosynthesis (AP) group, and will be supervised by CHASE principal investigators.**Position Requirements:*** Ph. D. in theoretical or physical chemistry, or a related field* Extensive experience in one or more of the following areas:* Computational modeling of homogeneous catalysis of small molecule activation.* Density functional theory applications to transition-metal containing molecular complexes.* Hybrid quantum mechanics/molecular mechanics (QM/MM) methods* Experience in applications of data science/machine learning for predictive modeling of catalysis**Additional Information:*** Brookhaven Laboratory is committed to providing fair, equitable and competitive compensation. The full salary range for this position is $82,000- $85,000/ year. You will be placed at the level and salary commensurate with your experience.
