Position Summary

We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist to support a public sector analytics initiative focused on advanced data analysis, predictive modeling, machine learning, and data visualization. The ideal candidate will transform complex datasets into actionable insights while collaborating with cross-functional teams to support data-driven decision-making.

Responsibilities

Perform advanced statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and data mining.
Develop and maintain data pipelines, data products, and analytical models.
Design dashboards and data visualizations using BI tools.
Apply machine learning and AI techniques to solve business problems.
Collaborate with technical and business teams to improve data systems and reporting.
Present analytical findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with data security and confidentiality requirements.

Required Qualifications

Ph.D. in Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Public Health, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
Minimum 2 years of professional data science experience.
Minimum 3 years of experience with data analysis, data management, data visualization, and statistical programming.
Knowledge of data privacy and security best practices.

Programming: Python, R, SAS, SQL
Data Visualization: Tableau, Power BI, Qlik
Analytics: Statistical Modeling, Predictive Analytics, Machine Learning, Data Mining
Microsoft Office: Advanced Excel (Power Query preferred), Word, PowerPoint, Outlook

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in public health, healthcare, or government environments.
Experience with machine learning, AI, forecasting, and dashboard development.
Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
