Maintain a properly stocked, organized, and clean room. Complete required documentation for Radiologist support and perform clerical duties, including answering telephones, completing patient records, filing, and scheduling. Perform direct patient care duties within the technologist’s scope of practice, ensuring patient condition, comfort, safety, and privacy. Obtain and document patient history and explain procedures. Perform radiology duties in all departments and environments, including OR and Fluoroscopy. Perform all imaging exams using established protocols and operate all equipment safely and properly, including scanners, injectors, monitors, and medical equipment. Use facility policy for proper identification of patients prior to performing exams and educate patients concerning the exam. Screen patients properly for any contrast allergies and for childbearing age, minimizing radiation exposure to patients, families, and co-workers. Position patients and equipment and select technical factors to produce radiographic images meeting Radiologist’s standards in a safe, timely manner. Demonstrate the knowledge and skills to perform scans on patients of all ages, adapting protocols as necessary. Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Analyze and assess data, techniques, methodology, equipment operation, and quality control to ensure accurate information presentation. Keep up-to-date knowledge of patient positioning and equipment operations, including x-ray producing equipment. Communicate appropriately and effectively with patients, families, hospital staff, nurses, physicians, and other health care professionals. Understand commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the health care industry. Fully use all Radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment. Read, write, and speak conversational English. Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
