Trial Attorney- Civil Litigation

Our client, a highly respected boutique litigation firm in Houston, is seeking a Senior Civil Litigation Associate Attorney to join its growing practice. The firm handles complex, high-exposure matters across a wide range of industries and is known for its strong trial culture and hands-on experience. This role is ideal for an experienced attorney who wants to manage their own docket, take cases through trial, and work on sophisticated litigation matters involving insurance, energy, construction, and commercial disputes.

This role is ideal for an experienced attorney who wants to manage their own docket, take cases through trial, and work on sophisticated litigation matters involving insurance, energy, construction, and commercial disputes.

Responsibilities

• Manage a full caseload of civil litigation matters from inception through trial and resolution
• Draft and argue motions, pleadings, and legal briefs
• Take and defend depositions, including expert witnesses
• Attend hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials
• Provide strategic legal analysis and case evaluation
• Maintain strong client relationships through consistent communication and reporting
• Handle complex, multi-party litigation matters across various industries
• Collaborate with team members while independently driving case strategy

PRACTICE AREAS / CASE EXPOSURE

This role offers exposure to a broad range of civil litigation matters, including:

• Insurance defense and coverage disputes
• Construction and infrastructure litigation
• Energy, oil & gas, and environmental litigation
• Products liability and toxic torts
• Transportation and trucking litigation
• Commercial and business disputes
• Personal injury defense and mass tort matters

(Firm handles both trial and appellate litigation across these areas)

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
• Active Texas bar license (required)
• Minimum 8+ years of civil litigation experience
• Minimum 5+ years of trial experience required
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
• Proven ability to independently manage cases and client relationships

Requirements

• Experience handling all phases of litigation, from pleadings through trial
• Ability to manage court appearances, filings, and deadlines effectively
• Experience in complex litigation and multi-party disputes preferred
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Client-focused mindset with excellent communication abilities
