Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position on a 3rd Floor Overflow unit, requiring at least one year of nursing experience and the ability to float throughout the hospital.

Details

• Work in a hospital 3rd Floor Overflow unit serving a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex
• Med/Surg and Step-Down experience required for this role
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
• May be floated to any area of the hospital

Requirements

• Active RN license (Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or eNLC compact license) currently in hand
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required — AHA certifications only accepted
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing care
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Basic computer skills required
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Full Date of Birth (DOB) required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include managing an assigned patient group, administering medications, initiating and monitoring IV infusions and blood products, and assisting physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and changes in physician orders
• Communicates care plans and discharge information with patients and families, and delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have a 6-month separation period after 26 total weeks before being eligible for a new contract
• Compliance deadlines are strictly enforced — candidates should be prepared to begin onboarding requirements immediately upon accepting an offer
• BSN from a board-approved program is preferred
