Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years preferred License: Virginia license pending accepted Certifications: BLS preferred; ACLS preferred but not required Must-Have: Epic experience required Description: This position is for a registered nurse in a 26-bed general medicine unit. Clinicians enjoy caring for a variety of disease processes. Patients may involve the respiratory, endocrine, cardiac, immune/infectious disease, and renal systems. This role requires working nights, with a maximum of 40 hours for time off allowed during the contract. Every other weekend and two out of three winter holidays are required. Time off cannot be approved around Christmas. Applicants must adhere to floating policies depending on staffing needs. Candidates should have experience in managing various procedures, including BiPAP/CPAP management and telemetry monitoring. Nurses will care for patients on continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis, chest tubes, varying drains, and those on heparin and insulin drips. Strong collaboration with multidisciplinary teams is necessary. Nurses will engage in IV therapy, wound care, and management of patient-controlled analgesia pumps. Candidates are expected to manage isolation precautions and interpret dysrhythmias. The unit supports a range of additional interdisciplinary services, including physical therapy and pharmacy.
