The company's brand portfolio includes the leading brands Domino®, C&H®, Redpath®, Tate & Lyle®, Lyle's® and Sidul®.The function of the Packaging Supervisor is to direct sugar packaging production on rotating shift. You will direct teams of specialized union employees ensuring Good Manufacturing Practices and safe operating procedures. Meet or exceed production targets, quality standards, maintain and regulatory compliance through the supervision of hourly personnel on rotating shifts. This role requires a leader who is comfortable spending most of their time on the production floor, engaging with our employees identifying and solving problems.Production / Employee Leadership:Coordinate and supervise daily production activities to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost targetsMonitor production performance for assigned areas and address issues in real timeEnsure production schedules are met while maintaining OEE and waste targetsConduct daily huddle meetings and communicate priorities within departmentsManage employee performance, attendance, overtime coverage, and disciplinary actions as requiredDetailed Roles & Responsibilities:Conducts regular shift meetings regarding safety, production, quality and other important information.Conducts training, monitoring and evaluating employee performance and implementing recommendations to improve employee performance.Analyzes production requirements to estimate worker hours and create production schedules that meet both internal and external needs.Ensures quality of finished products by adhering to company policies, procedures and specifications, making corrections to produce a safe quality-final product.Participate in quality investigations as necessary and identify corrective actionsCoordinates flow of materials into and out of the production areas for distribution in accordance with production scheduleConducts safety audits and ensuring that all safety requirements are metProvides guidance to workers in adjusting, repairing, and maintaining machines and equipment to optimize productionEstablishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedulesDevelops, recommends, and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.Ensures all required documentation for production, quality, and safety is completed and delivered in accordance with department and company requirements.Ensures equipment is operating properly & efficiently. Liaise with the Maintenance Team by reporting defects and downtime and assist with root cause analysis.Continuous Improvement:Lead and support Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen initiatives to improve Operating Efficiency - OEEIdentify waste reduction and throughput improvement opportunitiesParticipate in root cause analysis using tools such as 5 Whys, Problem Cause Solution (PCS), A3 problem solving, and Fishbone diagramsEffectively leverage performance systems, such as RedZone, to implement corrective and preventive actions to sustain improvementsWork Experiences:Ability and wiliness to train othersQuantifiable leadership skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work overtime, weekends, holidays and rotating shiftsBasic understanding of mechanical, electrical and instrumentationProficient with Word, Excel, Outlook and Power PointKnowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices is requiredMinimum of 3-years experience in an industrial food manufacturing/production environment supervising shift employeesIndustrial electric background, computer, PLC programming, mechanical troubleshooting preferredEducation Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent required4-year Degree in Industrial/Electrical/Sciences/Technical area preferredContinuous Improvement or quality certification(s) strongly preferredSupervisory Responsibility: Up to 35 employees per shiftSalary Pay Range: $62,500 - $115,500.00 plus bonusThe pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on the candidate's qualifications and prior experience.
