Job Description

Duties

• Manage and support the team to achieve program technical, cost and schedule objectives.
• Develop and coordinate all required program acquisition documentation and briefings, and ensure all program requirements and milestones are communicated and coordinated with program leadership.
• Interface with resource sponsors in developing and defending requirements and program budgets.
• Analyze information necessary for development of specific objectives for assigned program initiatives and for planning.
• Identify program office and other discipline area support needed to meet assigned program requirements.
• Direct the development of comprehensive program plans to ensure fulfillment of technical, cost schedule and performance objectives.
• Advise higher-level officials of program status and problems that require resolution.
• Evaluate program documentation to ensure that needs of the program are consistent with sound business practices and the degree of risk involved.
• Synthesize critical management issues, documentation and relevant information to support program reviews.

• This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Functional Area and Tier assigned to the position, along with Continuous Learning (CL) points, are required within established timeframes.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.

Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or DA-05 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Utilizing a wide range of technical and business systems, processes, and practices used to manage weapon systems acquisition; 2) Reviewing, analyzing, and implementing higher level procurement policies; 3) Managing project/program requirements, objectives and metrics, and resolving conflicts among schedules, funding, and resources; 4) Identifying opportunities to incorporate process improvements and best practices utilizing customer feedback, internal and external audits, self-assessment, and lessons learned activities; and 5) Advising management and colleagues on difficult problems, conducting special studies, proposing options and alternatives, and representing a command.
