Compensation:

• Licensed Veterinary Technicians: $25-$30/hr. based on experience
• Non-Credentialed Veterinary Technicians: $22-$28/hr. based on experience

Job Description: The successful candidate will work alongside a board-certified Veterinary Internist to provide exceptional client service and the highest standard of patient care. Our Internal Medicine department collaborates with multiple specialty services. Internal Medicine technicians play a vital role in supporting GCVS-NP's commitment to 24/7/365 veterinary care by contributing to on-call services, holiday coverage, and occasional support in other departments. Responsibilities:

• enthusiastic, eager to learn, and have excellent multi-tasking abilities
• exemplary communication skills with both colleagues and clients
• intravenous catheter placement
• venipuncture
• drug dose calculation
• strong interest in internal medicine
• Prepares exam and procedure rooms for each visit, anticipating needs of the DVM.
• Obtain patients current body weight, reason for visit and brief history.
• Obtain other vitals and lab work as needed.
• Perform and assist with all aspects of animal restraint for exams and procedures.
• Collects and processes all bloodwork
• Administers medications
• Assists with procedures and endoscopy per the doctor's orders.
• Under the direction of the Internist, runs anesthesia during procedures as needed.
• Prepare estimates and collect payment as needed.
• Other duties as needed.

Qualifications:

• Licensed Veterinary Technicians or Experienced Veterinary Technicians with at least 2 years of experience.
• Prior experience in Emergency and/or Specialty Care is required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to thrive under pressure and make informed decisions in fast-paced situations.
• A genuine passion for animal care and a commitment to patient well-being.
• Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus!
