Legal Assistant

Heidell, Pittoni, Murphy & Bach, LLP with offices in New York City, Garden City White Plains, Albany and Shelton, is currently seeking an experienced Legal Assistant with 2-3 years’ experience with a salary range of $60,000 to $65,000. This position will be in our Albany, New York office.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Obtaining records and working with experts in varying medical fields;
• Reviewing medical records;
• Drafting correspondence;
• Tracking requests for documents and regularly following up on progress of receipt;
• Preparing records and radiology for expert review;
• Setting up conferences with expert, clients, non-parties;
• Processing invoices from experts, medical facilities, vendors, etc.;
• Assisting in preparing cases for trial;
• Billing for time

Qualifications:

• Ability to manage heavy caseload;
• Ability to efficiently multitask and prioritize work;
• Must be organized and able to work independently
• Must have good communication skills, verbal and written;
• Team player with a can do/will do attitude;
• Demonstrates attention to detail
