Description The Plant Controller will manage and support all plant activities involving financial reporting, cash management, and AOP. This position will provide accurate plant financial and statistical data for leadership to make timely and informed decisions and will partner with various corporate functions. This position reports directly to the Operations Finance Director. Role Specific Responsibilities Assists upper leadership to drive annual budget process including planning, forecasting, as well as variance analysis Develops, maintains, and analyzes forecasts and budgets, preparing reports which compare actual costs to forecasted/budgeted costs Analyzes business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations to project future revenues and expenses Manage month-end closing and prepare monthly financial statements and other operational KPIs Analyze variances and communicates explanations to leadership with recommended actions Shares best practices across global finance team including: process improvements, financial modeling and procedure improvements Provides proactive consultation, interpretation, and education of complex financial and operational matters to various departmental leaders used to drive business decisions Collaborates with Site Leadership to explain results, make improvements, manage projects, identify inefficiencies, understand operations, and lead the development of complex analysis Responsible for departmental expense reviews and product standard cost responsibilities Monitor and implement plant internal controls (in conjunction with corporate policies) as necessary to ensure reporting integrity, safeguard company assets, and identify risks Ensures proper accounting in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles as well as local statutory requirements Performs other duties as assigned Compliance Complies with company Health, Safety and Environmental policies, procedures, and arrangements Reports all Health, Safety and Environmental accidents, incidents and near misses promptly Acts in a safe and responsible manner at all times Problem Solving and Innovation Active participation in continuous improvement activities Participates in problem-solving Takes responsibility and ownership for own learning and development in the spirit of continuous improvement of both self and the business Assists in the training, mentoring, and assessment of other team members Exercises autonomy and judgement subject to overall direction or guidance Education and Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field CPA/CMA experience preferred Experience 3+ years related Accounting or Finance experience Manufacturing or chemical industry experience preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities General knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) required Demonstrated ability to comprehend and execute basic accounting functions and identify process improvements Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to adapt quickly to changing business needs and priorities Displayed high levels of flexibility and adaptability Displayed bias for action and ability to complete projects Experience with SAP and Microsoft office applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc., Ability to work within a multi-functional, global organizational structure and exhibits robust interpersonal skills Self-motivated and able to work within a fast-paced environment Critical thinking skills and analytical abilities allow assessments of situations and opportunities Core Values credible: keeps their word and honors their commitments, acts with integrity, and holds themselves accountable to their decisions and actions outcome-oriented: adheres to an unparalleled standard of excellence in everything they do, to deliver results with real impact driven: passionate about delivering authentic, world-class experiences that engage customers and inspire greatness empowered accountability: empowered to achieve common goals and accountable for delivering performances and results that exceed standard.
