Senior Accountant / Assistant Controller
NTG Staffing
New Tech Global is seeking a Senior Accountant/Assistant Controller for a client located in Pasadena, TX. This is a direct hire opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
- Month end close activities (standard, not highly complex)
- Cash flow management and liquidity analysis
- Weekly AR and inventory financing assignments for lender (sometimes twice weekly)
- Prepare and review journal entries, including payroll entries
- Support and back up Controller on financial reporting deliverables
- Payroll accounting review (Paylocity NetSuite journal entries)
- Collaborate with AP/AR team; serve as senior resource and escalation point
- Assist with NetSuite reporting and Excel based analysis
- Over time, take on broader Controller level responsibilities
Excel - Intermediate to Advanced
- Pivot tables
- XLOOKUP / formulas
- ~5+ years accounting experience preferred (flexible for strong candidates)
- Solid understanding of cash flow and working capital
- Strong follow through and attention to detail (key gap with current person)
- ERP experience
- NetSuite preferred but not required
- SAP / Oracle experience would be highly transferable, if they know either of those, they should be able to pick up NetSuite easily. NetSuite is less complex. (QuickBooks only backgrounds would be less ideal unless paired with strong fundamentals)

- ERP / Accounting system: NetSuite (they export data out of NetSuite for analysis/reporting).
- AI reporting tool: Claude AI used to help turn exported NetSuite data into different/ad hoc reports (supporting analysis beyond Excel-only reporting).
- AP automation: AP software with AI invoice recognition reads invoices and prepares them for import into NetSuite (reduces manual data entry).
- Payroll system: Paylocity HR runs payroll; accounting pulls a Paylocity report and records a journal entry into NetSuite.
- Familiarity with payroll concepts (401k, HSA, deductions, employer vs employee portions)
- Paylocity experience not required (easy to learn)
- They will support the Payroll process when it comes to the numbers, but the payroll function is done through HR
- CPA is listed in the JD but is not required
- Experience supporting lenders or financing arrangements
- Prior exposure to multi location operations
