Lead and develop accounting professionals in a dynamic environment.Job DescriptionOverviewLead financial operations for multiple real estate properties and assets, ensuring accuracy and compliance.Supervise and develop accounting staff, fostering growth and efficiency within the department.Collaborate with property management, leasing, and construction teams to support organizational objectives.Prepare and analyze financial statements, providing insights into asset performance and trends.Ensure seamless integration of third-party accounting records into proprietary systems.Maintain compliance with GAAP standards and other regulatory requirements.Support budgeting and forecasting processes to optimize financial planning.Assist in internal and external audits, ensuring transparency and accuracy in reporting.Key Responsibilities & DutiesCoordinate month-end close processes, reviewing reconciliations and financial statements for accuracy.Analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts, providing explanations for significant fluctuations.Oversee property acquisitions, additions, and dispositions, ensuring proper accounting treatment.Manage insurance schedules, commission schedules, and tenant billing processes.Support property management in budgeting and forecasting activities.Supervise and train accounting staff, promoting professional development and cross-training initiatives.Research and apply accounting standards to ensure compliance and accuracy.Present updates on process improvements to the team and organization.Job RequirementsBachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA or advanced degree preferred.Minimum of 7 years of accounting experience, with 15 years preferred.Strong understanding of GAAP, accrual, and cash accounting methods.Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel for data analysis.Experience with real estate accounting systems like Yardi or IBS is a plus.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.Strong communication abilities, both written and verbal.Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
