This position is responsible for the execution of all purchasing requirements with a primary focus on ensuring security of supply, reducing costs and developing suppliers.Essential Functions:Develop and manage the mechanical/electromechanics/electronics supplier base and supply chain for assigned projects including escalation of quality & logistics issuesLead / support negotiations with suppliers for assigned commodities to achieve the best price, quality and scheduleSupport purchasing activities for cross-functional product development programsUtilize organization-wide purchasing policies and ensure complianceWork with Quality to develop and maintain supplier performanceCoordinate the qualification of new suppliersResearch new sources of materials, supplies, and services making recommendations to reduce costs and improve qualityMaintain all required records of purchases, prices, and deliveriesServe as technical resource in matters related to changing market conditionsParticipation in cost reduction activities to meet Purchasing targetsCoordinate and balance workload across Advance Purchasing Team to meet new program time linesRequired Skills and Knowledge:Advanced knowledge of supplier development and sourcing in a manufacturing environmentPrevious experience with board-level electronic, PCB and electromechanical component is preferredSAP ERP experience is preferredAdvanced computer skills, including the use of Windows, email and Microsoft OfficeAdvanced verbal communication skills, including negotiation and influencingAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with senior management, supervisors, vendors, and employeesDemonstrated project management skillRequired Education and Experience:Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain or related field preferred5+ years related experience in a manufacturing and electronic component purchasing environment desirableAny equivalent combination of education, training, and experienceSupervisory Responsibility:This position has supervisory responsibilityCore Values We Admire:Integrity – We believe in honest and transparent communication internally and externally.Flexibility – You prefer a fast-paced and dynamic environment and are agile and comfortable enough to keep up as plans change and evolve.Partnership – You are the excellent team player, able to build strong relationships and effectively partner with other team members to achieve results.Innovation – You want to support Marquardt in pursuing new and game changing technology.Pursuit of excellence - You strive to be the best.
