Paralegal

Schenck, Price, Smith & King, LLP is seeking highly organized and proactive person with a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience to support attorneys in our Trust & Estates Department in its Paramus Office. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Draft coorespondence and legal documents such as contracts, agreements, pleadings, wills, trusts, among others as directed Organize and maintain documents and files and/or electronic filing systems Contact/interview clients and maintain relationships with clients Perform legal research when applicable on relevant laws, regulations and legal articles Conduct and/or organize investigations and document searches Review and summarize discovery Attend court and certain practice area procedural meetings File documents as directed with the court or opposing counsel Assist attorneys during trials, client meetings, etc. Perform other administrative and litigation-related tasks as assigned The successful candidate must possess excellent communication, organizational, and writing skills, as well as the ability to multi-task and consistently meet deadlines. The candidate must maintain a high level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail. The candidate must be able to work independently and as an integral member of the practice group. Job related experience is required; paralegal certificate a plus. Knowledge of estate planning documents and probate procedures and familiarity with guardianship and fiduciary matters is required. This is a temporary role lasting four(4) to five(5) months. Possible temporary to hire to be determined at end of duration. The annualized salary range for this position is $55,000 - $65,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based upon experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
