CTE, Grant Program Specialist Career and Technical Education Section Phoenix Location Salary: $63,000-$66,000 Grade: 21 Closing Date: 8/12/2026 Responsible for overseeing Carl Perkins Federal and State Priority Grants for assigned eligible recipients including assisting with training, grant application development, processing, review and monitoring to ensure compliance. Occasional in-state and out-of-state travel is required for this position. The Arizona Department of Education currently utilizes a hybrid work environment, with up to two days of remote work (contingent upon business needs). Candidates should apply with an ability and willingness to work in-office up to five days per week as business needs necessitate. Job Duties Responsible for providing services to grant recipients in the planning, development, organization, implementation and evaluation of Career and Technical Education programs (including supplemental services for Special Populations participating in CTE) Independently provides Local Educational Agencies technical assistance/training/leadership to develop new or modify existing CTE programs to meet the requirements of the Carl Perkins V Act Completes monitoring, reporting and evaluation of assigned entities and their Career and Technical Education programs Develop and facilitate internal and external training related to grant development / management as directed by supervisor Implements established laws, rules, regulations and provides leadership regarding Carl Perkins legislation and CTE State Priority funding Will support Perkins accountability by ensuring sub-recipients complete required elements in the CTE Data portal Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs) Knowledge in: Federal and State rules and regulations relating to grant funding Budget development and analysis Planning procedures Grant development Grant processing and monitoring to ensure compliance Developing projects Evaluation of successfully funded projects and providing leadership Technical assistance to grant recipients A bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Education, Public Administration, or equivalent experience to substitute for the degree, is required. Skills in: Policy analysis Public speaking Computer/software skills Fiscal budget development and monitoring Planning and organizing materials/ideas Evaluation Program supervision Group interaction Monitoring Training/Facilitating Microsoft Office Suite Package (including Excel, Word, and Power Point) Ability to: Establish and maintain effective working relationships Plan, coordinate, analyze and establish priorities Develop effective operating procedures Organize, implement and coordinate multiple projects and people simultaneously Analyze data within associated reports Follow through and complete task Selective Preference(s) Preference will be given to those applicants with knowledge and experience of Career and Technical Education Programs.
