About the Practice

\n

CMG Brain and Spine are expanding! As we begin to rebuild our Neuroendovascular program (previously Neurointerventional) we are seeking a skilled and motivated Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant). This APP will play a key role in the care of patients with complex cerebrovascular and neurovascular conditions across the continuum of care.

This position offers the opportunity to work in a high-acuity, procedure-driven specialty alongside fellowship-trained Neuroendovascular surgeons in a collaborative, team-based environment.

\n Responsibilities\n

\n

Key Responsibilities

\n

\n
• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with cerebrovascular and neurovascular conditions (e.g., ischemic stroke, intracranial aneurysms, AVMs, carotid disease)
\n
• Provide inpatient care including:\n
  \n
  • Pre- and post-procedural assessments 
  \n
  • Daily rounding in ICU and step-down units 
  \n
  • Coordination of care with neurology, neurosurgery, critical care, and nursing teams
  \n
\n
• See follow-up patients in clinic setting
\n
• Assist with neurointerventional procedures as appropriate
\n
• Participate in stroke alerts and neurovascular call coverage
\n
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging
\n
• Perform procedures within scope of practice
\n
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, and follow-up care
\n
• Document care in the electronic medical record in a timely and accurate manner
\n

\n Qualifications\n

\n

Required Education: Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program, and Masters of Science Degree in Nursing (MSN)

\n Required Certifications and Licensures: Current licensure by the Virginia State Board of Nursing as a Nurse Practitioner with prescriptive authority. Maintains BLS and ACLS Certifications. Hold a current, active license as a registered nurse in Virginia or hold a current multistate licensure privilege as a registered nurse. Nationally recognized certification in field of specialization \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n
