Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 12 months of Telemetry Unit experience.

• 3 months of Epic experience is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Missouri license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Declinations not accepted.

• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: HealthTrust Program - Mercy (MO) and no current placement allowed at Program: HealthTrust Program - Mercy (MO).

• 12 months gap required between for Per Diem at Program: HealthTrust Program - Mercy (MO) and no current placement allowed at Program: HealthTrust Program - Mercy (MO).

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: - 1 year Cardiac Tele, inpatient only. - Reading telemetry. - Experience with CHF, chest pain, renal, and hemodialysis patients. - Amio and Cardizem drips. - Central lines (HD caths, ports, PICCs).

Preferred Skills/Experience: - Tikosyn and Sotalol initiation. - Potential for dopamine, dobutamine, lidocaine, nitro, and milrinone drips. - Chest tubes and other drains. - CIWA (withdrawal) protocol.

Special Requests: - Blocked scheduling (no specific days) may be approved based on facility requirements. - RTO of 5 days or less must make up the week on the back end. - Holiday RTO: can request only 1 per assignment.

Unit Details: - Fast-paced, high-acuity cardiac telemetry unit. - Monitor techs watch patients; there are also tele monitors at each nurse station. - Patient population includes CHF, chest pain, arrhythmias (mostly AFib, flutter, SVT), respiratory, renal, and hemodialysis patients; overflow patients include sepsis, urology, surgical, ETOH/drug withdrawals, isolation, and GI bleeds. - Uses lift equipment, bladder scanner, interpreter iPad, and BiPAP monitoring.

Shift & Scheduling: - Flexible contract hours: 36 or 48 per week. - Weekends as required by facility/every other weekend. - Call Requirements: None. - Night shift orients on day shift. Traveler must be available the entire week for orientation.

Floating Requirements: - As needed, to a similar or lower acuity unit.

• AUTO OFFER - NO INTERVIEW : This is an auto-offer position. You will likely not interview with the facility prior to receiving an offer. However, an interview can be arranged upon request. All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment. Any offers for this job will require a clear “Yes” or “No” response from the nurse within 24hrs or the offer must be declined.
