Classroom Teacher General Education

This position reports to the Site Principal and is classified as Exempt. The salary is based on degree and years of experience. The minimum job requirements include a Bachelor's degree and valid Oklahoma certification in the subject area taught, meeting Oklahoma State Department of Education and federal standards for a qualified teacher. Skills required include the ability to read, analyze, and interpret written information, write reports and correspondence, present information orally, work with mathematical concepts, solve practical problems, and interpret instructions in various forms.

The essential job functions involve teaching district-approved curriculum, employing various instructional techniques, establishing clear objectives for lessons, participating in collaborative planning and professional development, maintaining accurate records, creating a conducive classroom environment, developing differentiated lesson plans, communicating with parents, accepting and performing assigned duties, attending required meetings, and performing other duties as assigned. The position requires the ability to exercise sound judgment, adapt to changes, project a professional image, build positive working relationships, manage challenging situations professionally, and meet attendance expectations of at least 95%. The physical standards include sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, talking, hearing, and having close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth vision.
