MAINTENANCE WORKER I - WATER & SEWER DIVISION
PUBLIC WORKS

JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for performing a wide variety of manual labor and operating equipment and various vehicles to assist in the maintenance, repair, and operation of sanitary sewer collection, storm sewer and water distribution systems. Work is performed under the supervision of the Water and Sewer Utilities Superintendent with direction from the Water and Sewer Maintenance Foreman.

SCHEDULE:

Regular Days/Hours for Position: Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma/equivalent with a minimum of two (2) years' responsible work experience in utility maintenance experience; or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities.
• A valid Illinois Class B commercial driver's license with air brake and tanker endorsements and an acceptable driving record for eligibility of City coverage. If this requirement is not met upon hire, the Class B CDL must be obtained within the designated time.

SALARY & BENEFITS:

Starting pay rate is $26.52 per hour in accordance with the Local 150 Union contract. Position includes eligibility for full benefits package of group health insurance, benefit time, and IMRF retirement plan.
