Yellow Jacket Maintenance Services (YJM) is a trusted maintenance and repair partner serving community associations (HOAs, condos, and residential properties) across the Chicagoland area. Position Overview We are hiring a Maintenance Technician / Handyman with strong multi-trade experience to support residential and HOA properties. This role is ideal for someone skilled in electrical, drywall, painting, and exterior repairs who takes pride in high-quality work, reliability, and professionalism. Key Responsibilities Complete maintenance, repair, and installation work orders across multiple properties Perform electrical repairs (outlets, switches, lighting, GFCIs, ceiling fans, breaker panels) Handle drywall repair, patching, and installation Execute interior and exterior painting and staining Perform exterior maintenance (siding, fascia, gutters, seal coating) Troubleshoot and repair lighting systems and fixtures Maintain a clean, safe, and professional job site Communicate effectively with property managers and HOA clients Manage time efficiently and complete jobs right the first time Preferred Skills (Nice to Have) Roofing experience Masonry experience Welding experience What You’ll Need Requirements 3–5+ years of maintenance technician, handyman, or multi-trade experience Experience working in residential, HOA, or property management environments Strong knowledge of electrical, drywall, and general repairs Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly (up to 100 lbs occasionally) Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation Own basic hand tools Strong communication and problem-solving skills Ability to participate in an on-call rotation Disability Accommodation Notice Disclosure of a disability is a personal decision.
