Emilia is seeking an food runner to provide warm, knowledgeable, and attentive hospitality. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced and energetic environment, be eager to learn, and possess a desire to provide genuine hospitality to our guests. 

About Emilia

Emilia is a neighborhood Italian restaurant in Philadelphia that celebrates seasonality, light and bright flavors, and wood-fire grilling. The newest restaurant by Chef Greg Vernick, Emilia brings a thoughtful and welcoming approach to Italian dining, with a menu rooted in quality ingredients, handmade pastas, vibrant dishes, and a beverage program inspired by the ease and enjoyment of Italian hospitality.

What You’ll Do:

• Maintain knowledge of food menu items, with the ability to answer guest questions about dishes
• Work closely with the chefs to transport food from the kitchen to guest table with efficiency and cleanliness
• Work alongside FOH team to prepare for service

• Experience in a service support role or a strong desire to learn

What We’re Looking For:

• Previous food running experience in a full-service restaurant; experience in a chef-driven or fine-dining environment is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of and passion for hospitality and service.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Positive, team-oriented attitude and willingness to support coworkers.
• Ability to remain composed, efficient, and gracious in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to cleanliness, sanitation, and responsible alcohol service standards.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Compensation Details

Compensation: Hourly wage plus tips in a pooled house
