Job Opportunity

Position: Registered Nurse - Emergency Room (ER)

Location: Rochester, NY

Shift Details:

• Shift Type: Night shifts
• Schedule: 4x12 Hours (19:00 - 07:00)
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Must be available to work every other holiday as needed

Travel Experience:

No prior travel experience is required.

Qualifications:

• Active New York Single State RN license (not Compact)
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (valid certification required)
• Experience with Epic charting system is mandatory

Clinical Skills Required:

• IV therapy including blood product administration and central line management
• Phlebotomy and the ability to start and maintain IVs
• Management of CPAP/BiPAP and ventilator care
• Experience in treating CVA (stroke), neuro-trauma, spinal cord injuries, and traumatic brain injuries
• Cardiac monitoring with the ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias
• Emergency care for pediatric and adult patients, including trauma cases
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and triage processes

Patient Care Details:

• Patient Ratios: 1:5 during day shifts; nights will vary
• Patient Age Groups: Adults and geriatrics
• Interdisciplinary Support: Collaboration with IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation

Unit Highlights:

The emergency department is a state-of-the-art facility operating 24/7, featuring advanced diagnostic technologies, a dedicated pediatric ED, and a trauma suite for immediate stabilization of critical patients. The department offers a comprehensive range of emergency services for various diagnoses and special cases.

Required Equipment:

• Bair hugger
• Rapid infuser
• Safe patient handling equipment

Professional Development:

This position supports ongoing professional development and training opportunities within the emergency care field.

Scrub Color:

Any combination of navy blue and white scrubs is acceptable.

Additional Information:

Candidates must submit any pre-approved time-off requests and be available to float within their skill set as required.
