Landscape Architect Principal-In-Charge / Vice President

VP Landscape Architect/Principal-In-Charge Huitt-Zollars' Phoenix, AZ office has a great opportunity for Licensed VP Landscape Architect/Principal-in-Charge with 12+ years of experience and a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited Landscape Architectural program. This role will lead design teams through all project phases including site analysis, conceptual and schematic design, design development, construction documents, and construction administration. This position works directly with discipline leads, landscape architects, engineers, architects, designers and supporting staff through the above phases of project development. Location: Phoenix, Arizona Employment Type: 40 FT Hours Compensation Type: Salary Registration(s): Professional Landscape Architect (PLA) Education: Bachelor's Degree in an accredited Landscape Architectural program Duties: Function as a Lead Principal-in-charge and as a Senior Project Manager on key projects. Train/mentor staff and review work for quality assurance. Interface daily with clients, develop proposals, negotiate scopes and fees, ensure timely billing and collections and prepare change orders. Assist the team with research, site analysis, conceptual design and construction documentation for a wide range of project types Conceptual design, schematic design, design development, producing precise and consistent construction drawings, accurate project detailing and cost estimating Candidate must be able to work within a multi-discipline company and collaborative, project team setting Produce graphic presentations and build study models Manage the preparation of design and construction drawings. Direct a staff with varied levels of experience and expertise. Provide technically sound designs for our clients. Ensure quality controls measures are being adhered to on project delivery. Key Responsibilities: Takes active steps in the pursuit of winning new business or additional opportunities with existing clients and may be responsible for a stated portion of office sales goal. Assists and/or leads team in pursuit of new work (repeat work, SOQ and Proposals). Develops and/or executes project Win strategy. Successfully and consistently functions as Lead Principal-in-Charge for their designated Practice Area in geographic market. Competent, knowledgeable, service leader in the market(s) they service. Understands and follows HZ QMS and Quality initiatives. Ensures quality control measures are being adhered to on projects and daily operations. Prepares and follows comprehensive Project Framework Instructions and proper work planning for a project. Ensures proper staff is assigned and utilized on their projects. Reviews project reports and performance metrics to track project progress and budget. Leads successful projects (profit, on-schedule, quality, satisfied client). Verifies client satisfaction routinely and shares feedback with team. Proactively works with PM to strategize resolving issues that impact project performance. Reviews progress with PM at least monthly (including & completes vs. % spent) and that PM is adhering to weekly rhythm. Successfully contributes to the overall profitability and financial performance on projects. Oversees staff deliverables and production assigned to their projects to ensure client, legal, and company requirements are met. Qualifications: Bachelor from an accredited Landscape Architectural program Professional Landscape Architect (PLA) 12+ years of relevant experience Landscape Architect experience and project management Proficient in AutoCAD, and have entry level skills and/or interest in LandFX, Photoshop, Sketch Up, 3ds Max, Lumion, Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite and other illustration software This position is also required to adhere to Huitt-Zollars' Core Value Competencies.
