Registered Nurse - Medical/Surgical Stroke Stepdown

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse with expertise in Medical/Surgical care and Stroke Stepdown nursing. This role involves working with patients who require specialized care following a stroke, as well as other medical conditions requiring close monitoring and intervention.

Schedule

This position is for the night shift, 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM, with a commitment to a flexible schedule.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to a diverse patient population, primarily focusing on stroke recovery and related medical issues.
• Utilize specialized equipment including IV pumps, feeding tubes, and other medical technologies relevant to patient care.
• Monitor patient status and coordinate with other healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Administer medications and implement care plans as prescribed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in Medical/Surgical nursing with Stroke Stepdown experience required.
• Current Active NY State Registered Nurse License and verification of all active RN licenses.
• Current AHA BLS and NIHSS certifications; NIHSS certification can be obtained prior to start.
• Experience with EMR systems, specifically EPIC.
• Must provide a Skills Checklist matching the specialty requirements.
