Scooter Your Way (SYW) is a Michigan-based micromobility company developing a smarter, safer, and more stylish scooter rideshare experience for university campuses and urban communities. SYW is launching initially in the Ann Arbor / University of Michigan corridor, with planned expansion into Troy and Birmingham, Michigan as the company grows. Our mission is: We are building a next-generation mobility platform that combines convenient transportation, technology, artificial intelligence, safety, and a distinctive rider experience. Scooter Your Way is currently pre-revenue and preparing for MVP development, initial market launch, and a Series Seed capital raise. THE OPPORTUNITY Scooter Your Way is seeking an experienced and highly connected Co-CEO to join the executive leadership team and help take the company from its pre-funding stage through capital formation, launch, and growth. This is an opportunity for an entrepreneurial executive who can open doors, build relationships, raise capital, develop strategic partnerships, recruit exceptional people, and execute. The Co-CEO will work directly with the Founder & CEO and lead the company’s execution organization through the COO. The successful candidate should bring more than an impressive résumé. We are looking for someone with a demonstrated ability to turn relationships into opportunities and opportunities into measurable results. LEADERSHIP & GOVERNANCE STRUCTURE Scooter Your Way operates under a Founder-led executive governance model with clearly defined leadership responsibilities. The Founder & CEO retains ultimate executive authority over the company, including: Company vision and mission Overall corporate strategy Final strategic decisions Major capital and financing decisions Equity and ownership matters Investor and major external stakeholder relationships Major strategic partnerships Material corporate commitments Final tie-breaking authority when executive leadership cannot reach alignment The Founder & CEO’s authority is exercised consistent with the company’s governing documents and applicable law. Co-CEO — Executive Leadership & Company Execution The Co-CEO serves as the senior executive execution partner to the Founder & CEO. The Co-CEO’s responsibility is to translate company strategy into execution and measurable business results. The Co-CEO will have leadership responsibility over designated functional areas and will work closely with the COO to ensure the organization executes effectively. The Co-CEO is expected to: Lead assigned executive functions. Drive company execution against approved strategic priorities. Lead fundraising and investor development activities under the direction of the Founder & CEO. Develop strategic partnerships. Support board development and governance. Establish accountability for organizational deliverables. Provide recommendations to the Founder & CEO. Make decisions within delegated areas of authority. Escalate material strategic, financial, legal, personnel, or corporate decisions to the Founder & CEO. The Co-CEO does not operate as an independent authority separate from the Founder & CEO. The position is designed as a high-trust executive partnership with clearly defined decision rights. COO — Operations & Daily Execution The Chief Operating Officer reports directly to the Co-CEO and serves as the company’s primary tactical execution partner. The COO is responsible for managing the organization’s day-to-day operational execution, including: Internal workflows Operational processes Implementation of approved initiatives Operational performance Internal accountability Vendor and operational coordination Day-to-day execution of company priorities The COO operates “down and in”, while the Co-CEO operates primarily at the executive, strategic, and cross-functional level. The Founder & CEO maintains an open communication channel with the COO for governance, strategic visibility, and organizational oversight. Reporting Structure Founder & CEO Co-CEO COO / Operations Team The Founder & CEO, Co-CEO, and COO are expected to maintain regular executive communication and alignment. DECISION-MAKING FRAMEWORK To prevent overlapping authority and executive friction, SYW will maintain clearly defined decision rights. Founder & CEO Decisions The Founder & CEO retains final authority over: Corporate strategy Equity issuance and ownership matters Major acquisitions or dispositions Board appointments and major governance matters Material strategic partnerships Major contracts and financial commitmentsExecutive appointments and removals Fundamental changes to the company’s business direction Final resolution of executive disagreements Co-CEO Decisions Within delegated authority, the Co-CEO may lead and make decisions concerning: Fundraising activity and investor pipeline development Assigned commercial functions Approved growth initiatives Cross-functional execution Board-development initiatives Material commitments remain subject to the company’s established approval process. COO Decisions Within delegated authority, the COO owns: Daily operations Internal workflows Operational implementation Operational performance Implementation of approved executive initiatives EXECUTIVE COMMUNICATION EXPECTATIONS Transparency is a fundamental requirement of this position. The Co-CEO must keep the Founder & CEO and COO appropriately informed of material developments. This includes: Investor communications Strategic partnerships Board communications Material business opportunities Significant risks or issues Commitments being considered on behalf of SYW The Co-CEO is expected to use regular executive meetings, written updates, shared documentation, email communication, and other company-approved systems to maintain visibility. No executive should be operating in a silo. COMPENSATION STRUCTURE Because Scooter Your Way is currently pre-revenue and pre-funding, compensation is structured around company milestones. PHASE 1 — PRE-FUNDING / SWEAT EQUITY The Co-CEO begins under a sweat-equity structure. Equity Opportunity: 25% The Co-CEO will be eligible to earn 25% equity for contributions during the pre-funding phase, subject to fully diluted equity for future investors documentation and applicable vesting, performance, and company terms. During this phase: No guaranteed salary is provided. The candidate may maintain current employment. Expectations are based on results rather than hours logged. Priority is given to fundraising, investor introductions, strategic relationships, partnerships, and company-building deliverables. Specific objectives and milestones will be established by executive leadership. PHASE 2 — $2M+ FUNDING MILESTONE Upon Scooter Your Way securing $2 million or more in capital, the Co-CEO position transitions to a compensated executive role. At that point: A monthly executive payout will begin. The amount will be established through an approved company budget. Compensation will be determined based on the company’s financial position, executive responsibilities, and available funding. Compensation will continue until the company reaches its first profitable year, subject to applicable company agreements and future compensation decisions. Upon achievement of the company’s first profitable year, the Co-CEO transitions toward a full executive compensation structure. Potential components include: Competitive annual executive salary Performance-based bonuses Profit-sharing opportunities Long-term equity participation Additional executive incentives tied to company growth and performance Final compensation will be determined based on company performance, market conditions, responsibilities, and applicable approval requirements. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Lead and support SYW’s investor-development and fundraising efforts. Responsibilities include: Building a qualified investor pipeline. Developing relationships with VCs, angel investors, family offices, strategic investors, and other capital sources. Securing investor introductions. Arranging qualified investor meetings. Supporting pitch meetings. Advancing investors through the fundraising process. Supporting negotiations and capital closes. Maintaining accurate fundraising reporting for executive leadership. The expectation is results. The successful candidate should demonstrate an ability to produce qualified introductions, meaningful investor conversations, and ultimately capital commitments. 2. INVESTOR & STRATEGIC RELATIONSHIPS Build relationships that can accelerate SYW’s growth. Potential relationships include: Family offices Strategic investors Universities Municipal organizations Mobility companies Transportation organizations Fleet and equipment providers Technology companies AI partners Corporate sponsors Community and economic-development organizations 3. BOARD DEVELOPMENT Assist the Founder & CEO in developing a strategically valuable Board of Directors. Responsibilities include: Identifying potential board members. Making qualified introductions. Supporting board recruitment. Helping establish board meeting processes. Supporting board reporting. Developing relationships with prospective advisors and directors. Helping ensure board-level communication remains organized and effective. 4. EXECUTIVE EXECUTION Work with the Founder & CEO and COO to convert strategy into measurable results. The Co-CEO will: Assign and monitor deliverables within the execution organization. Track major milestones. Identify obstacles. Develop solutions. Hold appropriate teams accountable. Report progress to the Founder & CEO. Ensure approved initiatives move forward. 5. ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT As SYW grows, the Co-CEO will help build the leadership infrastructure required to scale. This may include: Developing organizational processes. Building strategic teams. Creating accountability systems. Developing partnerships and external resources. Preparing the company for institutional investment and future growth. CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS The ideal candidate will have: Previous experience as a CEO, Co-Founder, President, COO, or senior executive. Direct experience raising venture capital, angel investment, or strategic capital. Demonstrated success contributing to or closing meaningful fundraising rounds. A strong investor and business network. Experience with board recruitment or board development. Demonstrated ability to build strategic partnerships. A history of measurable execution. Comfort working in a pre-revenue startup. Ability to operate with significant responsibility and accountability. Strong understanding of startup economics and growth. Preferably, relationships within Michigan and the Midwest. Interest in micromobility, transportation, AI, technology, or campus mobility.
