Director of Research Development

Responsibilities

Edison Smart is partnered with a well‑funded robotics startup building next‑generation humanoid robots for real‑world deployment. We are seeking a Director of R&D to own technical direction, execution, and long‑term innovation across the full humanoid robotics stack.

Qualifications

5+ years in robotics (humanoid or legged systems)
Leadership of multi-disciplinary engineering teams
Experience with MPC, optimal control, and RL / imitation learning
ROS/ROS2 or equivalent robotics middleware
End-to-end understanding of humanoid systems (hardware + software + control)
