Director of Planned Giving

Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Director of Planned Giving for a mission-driven philanthropic organization focused on community impact and charitable engagement. This is a hybrid opportunity based in the Louisville, Kentucky area.

POSITION OVERVIEW
This strategic fundraising and donor engagement role will focus on cultivating major, planned, and complex gifts while expanding relationships with professional advisors, donors, and community stakeholders. The Director of Gift Planning will guide philanthropic planning conversations, support the establishment of charitable funds, and lead outreach initiatives that strengthen long-term giving strategies and community investment. This position will also serve as an internal resource on charitable giving, estate planning, and donor stewardship best practices.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and execute outreach strategies to build relationships with professional advisors and generate charitable giving opportunities
• Partner with individuals, families, businesses, and foundations to establish charitable funds and philanthropic giving plans
• Prepare and coordinate fund agreements, gift documentation, and planned giving materials
• Serve as an internal resource on charitable giving strategies, estate planning, and tax-related philanthropic considerations
• Lead presentations, educational events, and stewardship initiatives for donors, advisors, and community stakeholders
• Support legacy giving and donor stewardship programs while collaborating cross-functionally on development initiatives

QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in planned giving, fundraising, philanthropy, wealth planning, estate planning, or related advisory work
• Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills with the ability to engage high-net-worth individuals and professional advisors
• Knowledge of charitable giving vehicles, donor stewardship practices, and philanthropic planning strategies
• Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholder relationships simultaneously while maintaining exceptional attention to detail
• Experience utilizing CRM or donor management systems in a collaborative, service-oriented environment

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
This full-time, exempt opportunity offers a salary range of $100,000-$125,000 along with a competitive benefits package that includes healthcare coverage, retirement benefits, paid time off, and professional development support.
