Location: San Francisco, CA (Onsite)

Role Overview

This role provides hands-on technical support to end users, ensuring the reliable operation of desktop systems, collaboration tools, mobile devices, and hardware. This position is centered on diagnosing and resolving technical issues, delivering customer service, and maintaining a stable and secure end-user computing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide hardware support for laptops, desktops, mobile devices, docking stations, monitors, printers, and peripherals.
• Support conference room technology, including cameras, microphones, displays, and AV/collaboration systems.
• Manage software provisioning, application troubleshooting, account management, password resets, and access issues.
• Provide IT support within laboratory environments, partnering with lab managers and equipment owners to support research workstations, instrument-connected systems, and specialized laboratory technology.
• Respond to service requests and incidents, documenting resolutions in the ticketing system and escalating complex issues as needed.
• Troubleshoot Windows OS issues, including system errors, performance degradation, driver conflicts, and application failures.
• Write and maintain PowerShell scripts to automate routine tasks and streamline support workflows.
• Support macOS users with OS-level troubleshooting, application errors, and device connectivity.
• Support onboarding of new hires and assist with workstation setup and configuration.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of desktop support or technical support experience
• Strong experience supporting Windows environments
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Experience supporting end users in an onsite environment
• Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach to support
• Ability to work independently and manage a wide variety of technical issues

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting both Windows and Mac environments
• Experience with Microsoft 365 technologies and endpoint management tools
• Experience supporting scientific, research, or laboratory environments is a plus but not required
• Experience providing white-glove support to employees across different levels of the organization
