Second Shift Metal FinisherPerforms all jobs relating to the Machine Shop Deburr/Finishing Department.The metal finisher performs the following duties on a wide range of products and equipment. Work is performed under supervision by the department Lead.Follow job schedule to perform bench operations to polish and remove burrs from a variety of machined and fabricated partsAssist Floor Supervisor with the assignment of jobs to the Finishing Department's personnelCreate tools to increase efficiency of part finishingReading and interpreting blue printsManual polishing and metal finishingPowered device use for polishing and metal finishing including dremels, sanders, drills, grinders and other tools to complete partsUse of special tools to remove burrs from critical areasInspect own work, correct or report detected discrepancies to supervisorMaintain an organized and clean work environment.Maintain necessary records. Move materials in the performance of duties or as directed. Detect and report improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials and unusual conditions to supervisorIt is every employee's responsibility to be aware of and adhere to the applicable Safety & Health, Quality and Environmental Process of the Company.RequirementsHigh School diploma or GED requiredExperience with Metal FinishingTrade school, technical school, or military education preferredSkills and abilities:Ability to learn to perform the job assignmentsAbility to read or learn to read Blue PrintsAbility to follow verbal and written instructions
