Outpatient Nutrition Support/Home Infusion Dietitian

Job Summary This position provides medical nutrition therapy to patients and their families, along with consultation to the interdisciplinary care team. Provision of medical nutrition therapy is according to standards of practice, policies and procedures. It includes, but is not limited to, nutritional assessment, diet calculation, coordination of nutritional services with the patient care team, patient food services, and community agencies, participation in case conferences, and continuity of care. The position participates in multidisciplinary team and department committees and projects and may participate in promotional or community activities for the medical center. The position contributes to the dietetic internship: may precept dietetic interns, teach assigned classes, and may participate in curriculum development for an assigned area. Primary responsibilities include application of the Nutrition Care Process (NCP) including completion of the nutrition assessment, determination of the nutrition diagnosis, development and implementation of nutrition intervention(s), and monitoring and evaluation of the patient’s progress. The Clinical Dietitian uses the Scope of Dietetics Practice Framework (SODPF) to determine scope of practice, established Standards of Practice and Professional Performance (SOP/SOPP) in nutrition care and practice‑specific dietetics, and as available, evidence-based practice protocols/nutrition practice guidelines to help determine nutrition intervention(s). Apply By Date 7/16/2026 by 11:59 PM PST Minimum Qualifications Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) registered with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics' Commission on Dietetic Registration American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS), or UC Davis Health CPR required based on area assignment within 3 months of hire or upon an assignment change requiring BLS Successful completion of a didactic program in dietetics and supervised practice experience, approved or accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) and the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
