Sr. Process Specialist - Emergency Medical Services

Responsibilities Maintains contact with individuals and/or insurance companies regarding outstanding claims; Responds to insurance company explanation of benefits; Appeals denials of claims in writing or over telephone; correct and rebills rejected claims. Releases medical records to patient or responsible party. Reviews patients medical accounts; maintains accurate records/reports in accordance to department, state and federal laws. Collects fees and makes change; reconciles and balances money accounts. Performs general clerical duties, such as typing, filing, and preparing reports. Develops payment arrangements with patient or other responsible party. Assists walk‑in patients, vendors and other department employees. Answers incoming telephone calls and routes incoming calls. Assists other employees with duties and reviews work of other employees. Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers. Minimum Job Requirements High School Diploma/GED. 5 years job related experience. Bookkeeping and accounting skills. Strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to deal effectively with the public, other employees and elected officials. Bilingual preferred.
