At AMH, our goal is to simplify the experience of leasing a home through professional management and maintenance support, so our residents can focus on what really matters to them, wherever they are in life.The Leasing Agent serves as the company’s primary sales representative for prospective residents, responsible for driving occupancy through consultative selling, relationship building, and lease conversion. Responsibilities include establishing prospect rapport, identifying prospective resident needs, presenting compelling housing solutions, and closing leases.Responsibilities:Drives leasing performance by responding to and following up on inquiries from prospective residents across inbound and outbound channels. Conducts discovery conversations to understand prospect needs and preferences, presents available homes in a compelling and tailored manner, overcomes objections, and closes leases. Maintains an active pipeline of prospective residents and manages follow-up activity to maximize conversion rates and occupancy.Negotiates lease offers and clearly presents lease terms to prospective residents. Executes and explains leases and related documents to incoming residents. Conducts all leasing activities in compliance with applicable laws and Fair Housing regulations to maximize occupancy and minimize vacancy loss.Partners with internal stakeholders (e.g., underwriting and lease writing teams) to move applicants efficiently through the leasing process. Maintains current knowledge of inventory, pricing, market conditions, and company policies and procedures to position the company competitively in every sales interaction.Requirements:High school diploma or GED equivalent requiredMinimum three (3) years of sales or customer-facing sales experience requiredLeasing, real estate, or property management experience preferredState Real Estate License requiredDemonstrated sales ability including prospecting, needs discovery, persuasive presentation, objection handling, and closingStrong influence and negotiation skills with the ability to build rapport quickly and guide prospects toward a decision with confidenceExcellent verbal and written communication skills, including active listening and the ability to tailor messaging to individual prospective needsStrong relationship management and customer service orientation with a genuine drive to deliver exceptional resident experienceResults-oriented with a sense of urgency; motivated by performance metrics and conversion outcomesWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) requiredA Performance-Driven sales role with a guaranteed monthly bonus.CompensationThe anticipated pay range/scale for this position is $25.00 hourly.
