Production Editor, Print

Summary
Open Road Integrated Media is a digital-first book publisher and digital marketing company with a growing print program. We're seeking a Production Editor, Print, with 2-3 years of solid print book production experience to join our production team.

This is a terrific opportunity for an experienced Associate Production Editor or Production Editor to build and expand on print production expertise at a growth-oriented publisher.

Essential Functions
This role supports our Re-Discovery Literature program, a well-established initiative to give out-of-print and rights-reverted titles new life.

This role will work on straightforward fiction titles—genre fiction, literary fiction, and similar; will manage backlist print repackages through a complete print production cycle: source file evaluation, text cleanup, templated typesetting, cover file coordination, pass reviews and corrections, and final confirming review through to a packaged InDesign file and print-ready PDF; will own the production schedule for the print stage of each assigned title, with proactive communication to the supervising Senior Production Editor and Production Editorial colleagues who are managing the ebook editions for the same titles.

Requirements

• A love of books.
• 2-3 years of print book production experience, ideally in a trade publishing environment.
• Ability to manage multiple titles simultaneously within defined workflows and take clear direction from senior production editorial staff on project priorities.
• Excellent communication and organizational habits, with a proactive approach to schedule management and documentation.
• Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment.
• POD experience is a strong plus, as is proficiency with Adobe InDesign and Acrobat.
• Experience working in production environments where ebook files serve as the source for print files.
• This is a hybrid role with a required minimum of one day per week in our New York City office. Two to three in-office days per week are preferred.

Compensation
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The salary range will be $58,000.00 – $60,000.00.
