About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President of Communications to take on a pivotal leadership role in a newly centralized function. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and leading the organization's communications strategy, serving as the chief storyteller, and brand steward. This role is both strategic and executional, with a focus on proactive and strategic communication to advance the mission of affordable and supportive housing. The VP of Communications will be expected to own and drive the enterprise-wide communications strategy, act as an executive voice strategist, and lead the execution of a comprehensive brand identity refresh. They will also be tasked with narrative building, content creation, media relations, and internal and external communications, including crisis management. Applicants for the Vice President of Communications position at the company should have a minimum of 10 years' of experience in a communications role, with a strong background in media, journalism, or public affairs. The role requires a natural storyteller with a deep belief in the power of narrative, strong digital communications fluency, and a mission-driven approach. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in crisis communications, and experience in nonprofit, public sector, or mission-driven organizations is preferred. A BA/MA in journalism, strategic communications, or public relations is welcome but not required. The role demands a leader with strong relational instincts, a commitment to equity, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, complex environment.
