Barback Position at PorchlightPorchlight, from Danny Meyer’s Union Square Hospitality Group, is a true New York neighborhood bar. Since 2015, we've focused on serving up cold drinks with warm hospitality. American bar fare, classic cocktails, live music and good times in the heart of Chelsea. Come on in!The Barback is an important partner to our Bar and Service teams and is responsible for ensuring that our Bar team has everything they need in order to create memorable moments of hospitality for our guests. The Barback is also responsible for keeping all components of the bar area clean, organized, and stocked.What you’ll do:Consistently support a culture of Enlightened HospitalityCreate a welcoming and hospitable environment for all guests at the barStock the bar with necessary product and service toolsPrepare necessary garnishes, syrups, juices, and/or batchesMaintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including the seating areaFollows proper steps of service with grace, while maintaining a sense of urgency throughout serviceCommunicates effectively with staff members, management, and the kitchen during servicePerform additional responsibilities as needed and other duties as assigned to support team objectives and operational successWhat we need from you:2+ years experience as a Barback role in a full-service restaurantEnglish fluency and additional languages preferred, but not requiredAbility to stand or walk for long periods of timeAbility to balance & carry multiple plates, glass racks and or/glasses, and lift objects up to 30 lbs.What you’ll get from us:At Union Square Hospitality Group, extending Enlightened Hospitality is at the heart of everything we do.
