Central Sterile Technician

Responsible for performing sterilization procedures on medical instruments and equipment in accordance with established procedures, infection control standards, industry standards, recommended practices on sterilization, and regulatory requirements. Processes specialty and general instruments. Resets instrument sets without error. Decontaminates instruments and equipment according to procedure. Maintains stock levels within the department. Prepares and assembles surgical trays and equipment following established tray listings for issue, storage, or further processing. Communicates instrument repair needs to the supervisor. Knowledge, skills, and abilities include: Knowledge of case cart assembly. Familiarity with regulatory standards of materials management. Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
