This position provides direction for hourly and manufacturing support employees.This position is responsible to/for:Follow Safety Regulations along with all department specific safety requirementsOEEProduction Value Added by departmentDaily targets for shipmentsProfit/RevenueEnsure the safety of all employees by promoting a clean and safe work environmentImprove manufacturing planning, execution, and shop floor disciplineProvide leadership for Plant ABS and lean manufacturing initiativesProvide leadership to identify and remove non-value-added wasteImprove product flow and/or implement method improvements to reduce labor contentDevelop and train for the professional and personal growth of team leaders, cell facilitators, supervisors and other manufacturing support personnelAddress any safety issues or non- compliances immediatelyPromote Injury Free Event (IFE) reportingAccountable for applicable department budgetsMaintain good relations and communication with Howmet customersDevelop with plant manager and staff budget, strategic plans, team goals and objectives that align with BU objectivesFlow down goals and objectives to the entire organizationContribute to other location specific and corporate teamsMaintain excellent delivery performanceConduct capacity analysis to drive standard work and ensure accuracy of standardsDrive cost reductions to improve profitabilityUse lean manufacturing tools to reduce WIP and cycle timeCommunicate all relevant information to Staff, customers and managementUnderstand constraint management, OEE and apply techniques that exploit constraints to improve OEEProvide leadership in implementing continuous improvement methods and ideasConsults with engineering personnel relative to modifications to the process in order to improve production and quality of the productsProvide leadership in safety and continuous improvement initiativesBasic Qualifications:High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution7+ years of experience in leadership roles; 3 of the 7 years must be as a direct supervisorEmployees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
