PROJECT MANAGER

Salary Range: $90,000.00 – $120,000.00 Salary/year Travel Percentage: Negligible Job Shift: Monday – Friday Job Category: Manufacturing Description The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and management of projects. They will work with teams of engineers, architects, designers, and other professionals to ensure that all projects are completed on time and on budget. The Project Manager must be able to effectively manage multiple projects at once while still providing clear direction to team members and maintain strong communication skills to coordinate with clients and stakeholders throughout the process. Essential Responsibilities & Functions Serve as the primary point of contact for all project‑related communications, both internally and externally. Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and other stakeholders; understand client needs and develop detailed project plans to meet those goals. Plan, direct, and coordinate the development and execution of engineering projects throughout the life cycle, including creating FEL documents for all phases based on the Stage‑Gate approach. Oversee all aspects of project execution—scope, schedule, budget, quality, risks, and change management—using Primavera for tracking and controls. Work closely with assigned Project Leads to create and manage project plans, resources, and deliverables; support them in managing teams of engineers, designers, drafters, and technicians. Support maintenance efforts to ensure reliable operation of equipment. Provide technical process information by answering questions and requests. Maintain professional knowledge through workshops, publications, networking, and participation in professional organizations. Train others in areas of proficiency or expertise. Adhere to organizational policies, procedures, rules, and applicable laws, while ensuring equal employment and safety practices. Be available for shift work, overtime, and call‑in support for 24/7 operational requirements. Demonstrate reliable attendance and communicate development and career goals to the supervisor. Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Supervisory Responsibilities & Functions This is a non‑supervisory position. Direct Report Job Titles No direct reports; the individual will work with the Engineering & Construction Manager to determine work priorities for multi‑discipline designers, project leads, and contractors. Qualifications Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering discipline. Experience: Seven (7) or more years of engineering experience in a chemical plant or similar manufacturing setting with demonstrated skills in project management (small‑$25k to large‑$1m capital projects), troubleshooting, problem‑solving, and system/process improvement. Preferred Education: Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Degree; an Engineering Project Management certificate or master’s degree is a plus. Experience: Seven (7) or more years of engineering experience in a chemical plant or similar manufacturing setting with demonstrated skills in project management (small‑$25k to large‑$1m capital projects), troubleshooting, problem‑solving, and system/process improvement. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Professional engineering certification (PE), PMP certification. Language Skills Reading/comprehension, speaking, and writing at required education equivalency level. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical and business correspondence, policies, procedures, and regulations. Ability to present information and respond to questions in group or individual settings. Good interpersonal and communication skills; conversational French is a plus. Mathematical Skills Ability to perform arithmetic operations, calculate rates, ratios, and percentages in all units of measure. Computer Skills Proficient in Oracle Primavera and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Familiarity with AutoCAD or SAP software is considered a plus; proficiency in relevant SAP modules preferred. Complexity The work requires varied duties involving multiple unrelated processes, substantial analysis, and decision‑making under uncertainty. Physical Demands & Work Environment Both sedentary and limited physical exertion, including sitting, walking, standing, bending, carrying light items, and climbing stairs or ladders as needed.
