Diesel Mechanic Mobile

Position Description Torque by Ryder is hiring a Permanent Full Time Master Level Mobile Diesel Technician to support our truck fleet in Rochester, NY. Hourly Pay: $38.00 per hour Schedule: Monday - Friday, First Shift 7:00 am – 4:00 pm Fuel Card and Company Cell Phone provided Mobile technicians will receive a service vehicle Bonus eligible based on performance Additional training provided to level up Benefits Generous Paid Time Off Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance (effective 30 days from hire date) Life Insurance and Disability Insurance Options 401K Savings Plan with Ryder matching contributions Discount on purchase of Ryder Common Stock Employee Discounts on automotive, mobile plans, travel and hotels Accredited Tech School Tuition Reimbursement PPE & Uniforms provided at no cost Paid Job Training and Development Employee & Customer Referral Bonus program Requirements High school diploma or equivalent preferred Vocational or Technical Certification or Post-Secondary degree or Technical Certifications preferred Basic tools required Proven aptitude and experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including routine preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and advanced repairs Three (3) years or more relevant work experience preferred Commercial Driver License classes: CLASS A or CLASS E preferred (state driver's license acceptable) Experience with heavy duty and medium duty equipment diagnostics Ability to drive Ryder vehicles Strong customer service, communication, and relationship management skills Self‑starter, highly organized, capable of multitasking Adherence to company policies, safety, DOT compliance and proper documentation Training to meet specified subsystems within 90–180 days (e.g., PM230, BA220, TW220, AC220, DR208) Ability to complete required background, drug, DOT physical, and road tests Responsibilities Interact with customers and manage preventative maintenance, repair resolution, and repair estimates Coordinate work schedule as required by customers Perform preventive maintenance (PM) and vehicle repairs for systems including A/C & Heater, brakes-air, brakes-hydraulic, cargo handling, charging systems, clutch, cooling systems, cranking, lighting, drive axles, driveline, engines, fuel systems, steering, suspension, tires & wheels, coupling system Utilize shop management and electronic documentation systems to record maintenance and ensure compliance with federal/provincial/company guidelines Maintain safety and environmental records and key maintenance measurements per company policy Mentor SM II level technicians Equal Opportunity Employer – Ryder is proud to be an equal opportunity employer and a drug‑free workplace.
